Blantyre Celtic 5 - 1 Larkhall
After a decent preseason and a few weeks where BC weren’t at their best, all at BC felt they had a point to prove. Straight from the warm up they were focussed and determined to put those games behind them against a very decent and well organised Larkhall side.
A more pressing and determined looking BC this week and it wasn’t looking like it was going to plan shortly after kick off and BC found themselves behind. After decent pressure in the opposing half Larkhall managed to put a few passes together and hit on the break 1-0.
Not letting the heads get down BC continued the hard press and got their rewards with a goal and then after a couple of chances through on the keeper that should have put them ahead, Kieran pulled off an audacious lob of the keeper from outside the box. 2-1 BC at the break.
After the half time interval, it was very much the same, the BC defence and midfield breaking up the play and feeding the wingers and forward players to good effect. Another few goals followed with great link up play and fine finishing. Alfie’s scoring direct from a corner was a pick of the bunch.
There was no negativity coming from the BC players this week with a five star performance all round with a strong subs bench to compliment the starting 11.
