Back at Fernigair this weekend with the weather playing its part in the build up to the game and thankfully staying away during it. The pitch held up well mainly with a fresh trim adding some zip to the passing and shooting.
Blantyre Celtic started off reasonably well with the opposition not threatening too much. But a couple of bad decisions and getting hit on the counter led to goals and were 3-0 down at the break. The best chance for the home side was Ryan breaking forward well and chipping the ball over the keeper to see his effort rebound off the post.
They came out in the second half and put in a much better performance showing belief and positive play which led to Kieran getting a goal back with a composed finish. Although they lost another couple of goals and the final score ending 5-1, the young hoops overall played well up against a strong and well organised opposition.
The coaches were very proud of the whole team's performance today, building the play from the back exactly as they had been practicing at training this week and to keep up the hard work throughout the season. Well done!
